HR Manager

Working alongside aircraft engineers, CAV™ assist in the design, testing, analysis, manufacture, integration and approval of unique technology solutions to overcome critical safety challenges and increase the efficiency of flight.

We are now looking for an experienced HR Manager to act as the first point of contact for managers and colleagues, providing support and solving problems, as well as to develop and review people plans across all functional areas supporting the delivery of the business strategy, company values and policies and procedures. The role will provide general HR support across the employee lifecycle including: recruitment, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee engagement, performance management and employee relations, communications and administration.

Activities & Responsibilities

Enabling Line Managers

  • Support managers to embed company values across the business population ensuring incorporation into all colleague touchpoints.
  • Provide an effective employee relations support service to all Line Managers which enables a productive, engaged and inspired team; to include absence, disciplinaries, grievances and sickness.
  • Provide the necessary tools and coaching to managers in support of performance management and the development of high performing teams.
  • Define and implement a training and development agenda; identify areas that need attention and improvement to support business growth.
  • Support the development of managers and their teams, including delivering training and development interventions and working with external suppliers of learning and development.
  • Facilitate talent and succession planning, taking overall responsibility for resourcing and retention across the business.
  • Work closely with the leadership team in determining the compensation and benefits offer and provide advice and support to Line Managers and employees on company benefits, remuneration issues and benchmark data.
  • Proactively identify best practice to develop People initiatives, present recommendations to the Leadership team for approval, including spend and added value outcomes, and lead project delivery.
  • Provide training, support and coaching on processes and procedures, ensuring managers are updated on changes to employment legislation and best practice, check compliance.

 

HR Administration

  • Preparation of change of conditions documentation and liaising with Finance on the administration of all changes to pay.
  • Responsible for the leaver process including processing leavers correspondence, completing the leaver information for payroll processing, calculating outstanding annual leave, coordinating exit interviews and monitoring and recording information contained within it and updating structure charts.
  • Administration and maintenance of training records for all staff including apprentices and utilisation of the apprentice levy.
  • Ensuring security of personal data and maintaining confidentiality on people related matters.
  • Keeping records up to date on the HR system including records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain job descriptions with the support of department managers and update structure charts to reflect people movement.
  • Compile and analyse key HR data and make recommendations for improvements.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Supporting managers with the recruitment of new staff – encourage adherence to recruitment process; target recruitment pools in liaison with the Marketing manager; manage the selection process; and the creation of offer letters and contracts, completing the reference process, right to work checking and onboarding of new staff.
  • Preparing contract of employment documentation and setting up new employee files
  • Conducting relevant checks including Right to Work, References and Qualifications
  • Communicate details of new employees to appropriate colleagues to ensure facilities and equipment are readily available upon commencement of employment
  • Ensure new employees have an onboarding/induction plan and receive relevant information on their first day of employment
  • Explain and enroll new starters into the company benefits.

Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified
  • Confident in advising managers and delivering on all aspects of people management and development.
  • Numerate and financially aware with the ability to produce reports and statistics as required combined with excellent presentation skills both formally and informally.
  • Natural and credible influencer at all levels
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation
  • Strong communication skills with a high standard of verbal and written English
  • Experience of prioritising a busy workload, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • PC literacy and experience with MS Office applications
  • Strong ethics, integrity and trust
  • Professional and confident
