CAV Ice Protection has reached a milestone with the installation of the 100th TKS® Ice Protection System on the world’s fastest fixed-gear aircraft — the Cessna 400 Corvalis TT and its predecessor aircraft.
Including factory installations on the new aircraft and aftermarket installations, 100 of the model 400 aircraft can now fly with the propietary TKS Ice Protection System. The 100th system was installed by CAV Ice Protection at its Salina, KS facilities on a Cessna Corvalis 400 owned by Chris Leevers of Castle Rock, Colorado.
Leevers primarily uses the airplane to fly to Leevers Supermarkets in Denver, Dallas and Casper, WY. “My new CAV Ice Protection System provides peace of mind and increases the flexibility of my 400 when flying in the mountains for business,” Leevers said.
Cessna’s 400 Corvalis TT climbs at 1,400 feet per minute, flies at 25,000 feet and cruises at 235 knots.
